I want someone to relive the story arc with the shmoos!
They’ve been doing that for ages! There are tons more Li’l Abner storylines that we’ve never seen here. I know because they’re part of how I learned to read over 70 years ago!
Love the pearls! Honor RBG’s legacy by voting!
Hard to believe, but I woke up overnight and rather than toss and turn, decided to do an NYT puzzle from “I Love Saturday Crossword Puzzles” (2019). This was the puzzle! Freaky! (#32 across answer is Abuja.)
I already use a large screen desktop and enlarge the comic from my GoComics page. Thanks for the suggestions.
Does anyone else struggle as much as I do trying to read the characters’ speech balloons? At first, I thought it was just a matter of becoming accustomed to this style, but after a few weeks with the strip, I’m not improving. Some are OK, but others are faint and so crammed that these old eyes have trouble distinguishing words.
Agreed! There are very few storylines in this strip, just repeats and repeats. I’m old enough to remember Shmoos too and would love to see them again!
I watched an old M*A*S*H rerun last night. Colonel Potter had a blown-up schmoo punching bag in his office and related what a fad they were back in the States. Please bring back the schmoo storyline!
Agreed! I grew up reading Li’l Abner (or having my dad read it to me) and know there are many great stories that aren’t being told. How about some Fearless Fosdick, schmoos, Sadie Hawkins, and more? Stop recycling the same old, same old!
Agreed! I would love to see something with the adorable shmoo in it!
