   Frankly, I doubt this. In large part I doubt this because you have been challenged to support your assertion on several occasions, and have merely repeated the assertion, without supplying support of any kind.

   As has been asked before: where are you? I can and will check. At least one person has provided data supporting his position which can be checked. You have not. The conclusion to be drawn is that you cannot.

   So… what did I steal? I merely refuse to provide a tip for bad service. That is not even close to any rational definition of theft. As others have noted, if you think that this is theft, call the cops.

   Some of us want value for money. If you think that this makes us cheap misers, then that would be your take. And our take would be to take our business, and our money, elsewhere, to where we can get value for money. 30% of zero is zero. Have fun.

   Providing service is their job. If you provide poor service, you get a poor, or no, tip. If you demand more than your service was worth, you get a poor or no tip. If you provide good service, I will probably give a good tip. If you provide poor service and demand a big tip, you get a penny.

   You no like? Me no care.

   Hmm. I, like many others, tip based on service. Poor service gets a poor tip, if anything. I have been known to leave a penny specifically to show that I did not forget, it was not a mistake, I really think that this is what you’re worth. Good service gets 18-20%. Great service gets a lot more.

   Like many others, I do not return to places where I have had poor service. In particular I don’t return to places where I have had poor service from waitstaff who show that they feel entitled to large tips. I also tell friends and family to stay away, and why.

   It’s not a question of can’t afford to tip, it’s that I will not tip for poor service. If the waitstaff can’t maintain an acceptable minimum service, then they get a poor tip. And I never return. They have one chance to demonstrate their service, which is what they are employed for. If they can’t do the job properly, they should find another job.

   If the Caller ID shows Private or Unknown or something like that, it goes to voicemail. If they can’t be bothered to identify themselves or actively try to hide, I don’t need to talk to them.

   When someone says “my way or the highway”, they better be ready for the target of their ultimatum to pick the highway. In the past, two of my ex-gfs have decided that it was their way or the highway. In each case I picked the highway. If an ultimatum succeeds, why then similar tactics will be used again and again. The time to say no is the first time, and if that leads to a breakup, so be it.
