Anyone ever noticed how geometrically laid out Ernie Bushmiller’s comic panels are? He pays great attention to detail and composition. Many embellishments to signify action, intent and emotion. It takes a very focused, detail oriented mind to be able to do that. This is what I think of as a throwback to the old fashioned comic strips style of the early 1900s, in some ways but Ernie had a style of his own.
