   Again, Toni is being smart. Remember, she has a good model of bad parents, Shannon’s folks. She does not want to be like that, and she is proving what a good parent she’ll be. Some may question life insurance and the medical questions, but Toni’s parents died when she was young in a car crash, so of course she’s thinking ahead. Stuff happens, and she wants her child to have as good a life as possible.

   I like the fact that Toni is being sensible. She wouldn’t be able to work as a firefighter for a time when she’s pregnant, then no work during maternity leave (unless her Dept offers paid time). then there’ll be daycare when she goes back, if she goes back. She’s being a good future parent by looking at finances, as what affects them will also affect the baby. Losing half your salary is a BIG thing, and daycare is not cheap!

   Although I don’t like Stefi doing her typical thoughtless action, I hope this may be a wake-up call for Bets to realize that she’s been taking Gunther for granted for a long, long time! Gunther seems to be the only one in their relationship that puts any concern into it. Bets just goes her merry way and presumes that Gunther will be sitting around waiting for her. Even yesterday’s strip actually shows Bets imagining Gunther literally sitting around depressed waiting for her, with him only happy when she shows up. The thought made Bets happy, which IS NOT what a good partner wishes for their mate. Apparently that is what she wants Gunther’s life to be though. If Bets doesn’t shape up, I’m joining the crowd that thinks the two should break up. Gunther can do better.

   Kip may also want a mate whose hot in bed, even if she’s boring outside of it. It wouldn’t be the first time for this to happen in a marriage. Anyway, neither Kip nor Stef are talking marriage now, so status quo is good at least until graduation. Tif needs to give up on the Kip and Stef train wreck.

   Then Kip needs to tell Stef exactly what he’s there for. As she’s made it clear to him that she considers their relationship long-term, he needs to make it clear that it’s not. Otherwise if he doesn’t, then Kip is a scuz-bag whose using her for what he can. They need to be on the same page. As for Tiff, although I find the last panel funny, she should steer clear of this until Kip/Stef relationship is settled.

   Bets makes a lot of money with her social media, she’s mentioned it a few times in the past. Plus, you never see her stressing al all about money. She can cover all the costs, and frankly now that Gunther is a big part of her media, he does his part too for their cash (and he makes the costumes.) And they’ll be able to attend every comic-con across the country! This seems a win-win situation, no Bets under Al’s roof, and an adventure for Bets and Gunther. Come on people, let this be a happy situation for once!
