I still remember the cinnamon rolls prepared by the “cafeteria ladies” in elementary school. They were a real treat for this child of a Type 1 diabetic mother who did not routinely fix and serve sweets. On the other hand, the ladies ruined many vegetables by overcooking. Gray peas, ugh.
I wonder why so many Western (Christian and secular) holidays turned into reasons to binge on candy?
All of us BBQ lovers are offended. That is a grill, not a pit, not even a smoker.
There is no way Calvin could get the tire off the wheel. Another instance of suspended reality.

I learned this as the Wolf, the Goat, and the Cabbage. When my son was in early grade school, I found a small toy boat in his old toys. I made a river out of blue construction paper, glued it to a green sheet, and laminated the whole thing. Then I made paper representations of the wolf, goat and cabbage, and laminated them as well. We would play this logic game until we got all across safely, or until someone got eaten.
Made me laugh!
