Jesus told his followers to be watchful and ready because it would come at an “hour” that they “did not think to be it”. (Matt. 24:44 Luke 12:40) Use of the word ‘hour’ here denotes just how quickly it will occur. He noted a number of indicators that would mark the time for it, and those paying attention to those indicators aren’t being discouraged by those (like certain ones here) who unwittingly echo the Bible at 2 Peter 3:4 where ‘ridiculers’ will say “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep in death, all things are continuing exactly as they were from creation’s beginning.”

Also take note of the use of the Greek word ‘parousia(s)’ here, which means “presence”, not “coming”

Didn’t Volkswagen make that back in the 70"s? The “Thing”. One ugly vehicle (it even got spoofed in the Mel Brooks film Spaceballs)

“There certainly were people traveling across oceans pre-historically but they did so by following coastlines and island hopping. This they did predominantly for migration purposes and not commerce”

    1 Kings 10:22; Isaiah 60:9; Isaiah 66:19

Wiki – "According to the Jewish Encyclopedia Da’at [he], the biblical phrase “ships of Tarshish” refers not to ships from a particular location, but to a class of ships: large vessels for long-distance trade" “Some modern scholars identify Tarshish with Tartessos, a port in southern Spain, described by classical authors as a source of metals for the Phoenicians, while Josephus’ identification of Tarshish with the city of Tarsus in Cilicia (south-central Turkey) is even more widely accepted”

CNN article reagrding 3300 year old shipwreck found 56 miles out- " Yaakov Sharvit, director of the Maritime Archeology Unit at the antiquities authority:

“This is the first and earliest shipwreck discovered to date in the deep sea in the eastern Mediterranean,” he said. Previous knowledge of how ships traded suggested that voyages were made from port to port, rather than across open expanses of sea, with those on board still able to see the shore. “This is a world-class sensation: The discovery shows the impressive navigational abilities of the ancients – those that made it possible to cross the Mediterranean Sea without any eye contact with the shore – since from this distance you can only see the horizon line,” he added. "

“When people like us can get online and instantaneously exchange different points of view and data, education is ongoing at a rapid speed”

This statement though makes the assumption that the information found online is factual simply because it’s claimed to be data. When you consider how much of the internet is uncontrolled when it comes to who can post information and how makes the reliability of the net dubious at best
