no, 8 is not early to learn to cook. – at 8 I needed to step in for my mother and cook a full dinner (pork roast and sides) because our parents were dealing with not 1 but 2 family deaths. I taught our kids to cook about then and both are very good at it. I wish my husband had been taught, dealing with chemo treatments prevents me from being able to cook and our meals are beyond sketchy because I’m not strong enough to stand at the stove.
yes and no – teach the kids how to cook despite the mess. down the road they will need the skill. believe me right now I wish my husband knew how.

my husband put on cologne one morning and it was all I could do from getting violently ill – he got mad when I asked him to get rid of it – then not too long ago he encountered a woman wearing strong perfume and had the same reaction – the cologne is now gone
