Corporate raiders have taken the San Diego paper and jacked up the subscription, fired 2/3 of the writers and closed the headquarters. The LA Times will be next. I switched to Apple News+ and can see that and many other papers online for $13 a month.

Corporations are in for the final blood draw from the nation’s newspapers. Like here in San Diego where I just canceled the Sunday-only edition and also digital. I havethe NY Times digital. The San Diego Union was sold to a corporation that has purchased many failing newspapers. They fired more than half the writers, closed the headquarters, and increased the subscription costs. A final milking before closure.

Skep bee hives, like the one Wiley placed in a tree, and pooh bear loved, were baskets with concentric rolls of hay below. Adding more roles of haying below provided more space for brood. The added rolls are called ekes and adding them is where the phrase “eking out a bit more.” originated!

January 1978, I was a passenger on an Air India flight from London to Bombay and later on to, Goa and Sri Lanka. Just before landing, we flew over Air India Flight 855. It was crashed in shallow water and you could see the plane! The guy in the seat next to me was an English specialist flying in to examine the wreckage. When we landed we had to wait on the plane until English Prime Minister Calahan departed the Airport.

This is the AI version: I was curious, so I did some research and found out that Garfield’s origin story began in 1978, the same year that “The Cat from Outer Space” was released. Interesting coincidence, don’t you think?

I wonder? What year is the beginning of Garfield’s origin story? Hmmm, “The Cat from Outer Space” was released in 1978. Coincidence?

Like today, the country was divided on racial issues. The constitution was only ratified by the southern states after the abolishment of slavery was eliminated from the text. Revisionism is not a valid claim when it is a moral issue that is as old as tribal conflict. Apparently, slavery was ignored by the north to allow the republic to form and ignored by the south to build their economy on the plantation. Apparently, a strong national economy was considered the greater good, than abolishing slavery in the founding documents. Too bad.
