   my dad used to clean fish on the picnic table in the backyard, and there would be scales left that dried on and never came off. On bigger fishing trips, they had someone they paid to clean the fish and wrap it for freezing….

   but you should finish reading the overdue book first. Amazon will just hold all of your “purchases” (many of mine are free books) until the next time you turn on the wifi. No need to turn it on since you ordered a book. If you are dealing with your library, it’s a different matter. I usually get 3 days to download a book I was waiting for (and most of my library books have to be waited for…) should be enough time to finish up a book!

   If you have a library book on your Kindle, and it’s due — the only way the library can delete it is if you turn on the wifi. If you keep that off, you can have the book as long as you like. BookBub.com has a way to get free kindle and other ebooks free everyday.
