   True. I disagreed with removing the statues because they were all major parts of Southern history and the plaques on them needed to be updated, revised, enlarged and made more accessible to visiting public. They were on the losing side but can they be wiped from the minds of locals; generations brought up to admire them.

   He should not have even considered leaving office in the middle of the War. He didchange his running mate and it turned out he was the better choice. Ended the war, won a full term of his own, then chose not run for a second term.
