To travesty a swedish joke about our sigint agency: “NSA, the only agency that listens to you” (I figure the joke is obvious, but in case it’s not as clear to you non-swedes as I believe, a common complaint among people is that the government don’t listen to the people)
Exactly. And if you’re competent enough to get online, you ought also to be competent enough to spare 5 seconds to google an acronym you don’t know.
Second that. Thumbs up.
Did you even bother to try to google NSA? I can (to some slight degree) understand people feeling annoyed because they don’t get the visual reference, although I think their annoyance is unfounded also in that case, as it can be quite hard to figure out what it is about without words to put into google or another search engine. But it is your responsibility to actually clarify things you don’t understand. And it takes all but 5 seconds to find out what NSA stands for. And considering it is a strip made by Americans for Americans. The meaning of NSA might not be readily clear to non-Americans, even though it is rather well-known outside of the U.S., but it ought to be general knowledge what NSA stands for in the U.S. NSA is, metaphorically speaking, a sibling of CIA. Would you gripe about a joke employing CIA as well?I’m swedish, I often have to check up references I do not get because they relate to sports or TV shows of The Price is Right type or commercial products of certain brands that doesn’t exist in my part of the world. It would never occur to me to complain because of that. If you can’t stand doing a few minutes of research every now and then you’d have the option to stick to the diluted bland comics that never presents a challenge. (Or in my case, I would have the option to stick to swedish feminist politically correct social commentary comics, in my opinion, a fate worse than death.)
I thought I didn’t get the joke ‘cause I couldn’t figure out the tombstone.
@Joseph Shelby Not to mention The Residents cover of Satisfaction. The most incredibly ugly song in history.
Yeah, Guard Duck is back in style!!!
@Sisyphos I am Evil, therefore I Live.
He looked so blissful in the second panel, I thought he was coming.
It’s still great music, regardless of when you were born. I’m too young to remember (but I was alive) when the magic ride was a hit, I got into the teens and music to catch up on them when they reunited.
