I have been enjoying this storyline very much. A little slow moving, I suppose, but it reminds me of the older Oop stories. A nice finish. And several days with some especially nice art.. My favorite since the ""Lola" story some time back, but the lack of an ending for that one ruined it, IMO. Kudos to the Benders (and Wooley) for this one! Can’t wait to see what’s next.
The Benders have finally lost me completely. Todays strip is idiotic. Drawn poorly, written poorly. Of course Alley Oop has heard of rubber, but…this isn’t Alley Oop. It’s a figment of their (lack of) imagination. The Benders ceased creating any actual Alley Oop stories long ago.
You know, I’ve heard the story about ooola having a sister Lala several times, only at this forum. I’ve searched and searched for the panel with her in it. I;ve got book collections of strips from 1933 and on, I’ve got photocopies, I’ve searched ilovecomix. Can’t find it. If it is true, could someone give me the date thiat panel was published. I have my doubts.
I am a little disturbed about all of the loose ends that are accumulating in this strip. I’ve read almost, if not all, of the Hamlin strips and only recall one or two loose ends. The Benders have beat that record pretty dramatically lately.
