And here we see that, when the skin’s boiled away, the two sides of the situation aren’t that different: when presented with someone to strap the blame on, be it Heather Hoss for the wolves or Foxworthy for the rest, the frightened and angry find it hard to resist venting.

I’ve got the lyrics to “Goodnight Saigon” stuck in my head now.

“And we will all go down together…”

Mmm, retribution like this never pans out. The authorities kill one of the mob, the mob kill one of the authorities, the authorities kit up and mow down the mob…

A very V For Vendetta moment. Fear often leads to the vulgar abuse of power, and when that power is already excessive beyond all reason, the results are rarely in any way pretty.

I hope Ben and his equally armed friend have made peace with their makers, because I foresee a meeting in the very near future.

There’s not much protection against disintegration—those seem to be the same pistols Flask carries about. We saw what they did to the researchers who tried to cross her…

Channeling a bit of Joss, are we? A risky venture gone awry, and the desert hides the history.

I…hope we’re not seeing the whole picture. This is not a good-bye I want to have to say. Then again, the ending is never guaranteed to be the happiest one, is it? Shed a tear and then…carry on.

We still have Al and Gustine…

I’ve only one thing to say. You’d best return, boyo.

Romance after the apocalypse is a weird beast indeed…

    Go get ’er, Wally.
