   BAD GRAMMAR ALERT! One does not “evoke” God’s name. One “invokes” it. An amazing grammatical error by Garry! It’s a wonder his wife (the famous newscaster wife didn’t catch this glaring error. Of course, what do you expect from a guy who misspells the name “Gary”? Seriously, though — I’m surprised that nobody else out there caught the error in grammar…..

   I’m no prude, but I have to agree with banjinshiju. Either you’re a family cartoon with the emphasis on “family humor”, or you’re not. In which case, you’re an “adult” comic", with hilarious cartoons featuring all kinds of off-color humor, right there, for everyone to see. You can’t have it both ways. Mr. Metzger should keep in mind, however, that choosing the “adult” pathway to humor will lead him to a smaller following (and a smaller income base). After all, it’s HIS strip. He should feel free to express himself, without fear of criticism.

   I hate to nit-pick (and yet, here I am, doing just that….) but the “fruit salad” (the little ribbons on the officer’s chest) belong on his LEFT side, not his right. To verify this, simply click on Google Images and type in “military fruit salad”. (pity my poor wife – she has to live with this every day…….).
