   Somehow it’s absurd that the USA were vetoing an earlier resolution of the Security council who exactly did what now seems to be missing. Personally, I think that not all resolutions always have to retell a story from it’s beginning. It was absolutely terrible what Hamas did and it is always wrong to hurt innocent civilian or to take hostages. But this holds true for Palestinian civilians too. A terrorist attack can never be remedied with war crimes. As long as killing innocent and just consider them “collateral damage”, hate is being perpetuated. I guess, the US should know this best?

   Thanks for pointing out all these details. It‘s true, I wasn‘t aware of them. A pity, it is this complicated. Is this really the only way? Different countries, different solutions, fair enough. From my own experience as voter as well as vote counter, I know that simpler and yet safe solutions are possible. Where‘s the „can do spirit“ of the USA? ;-) Anyway – stay healthy and safe

   It’s illustrating that the – in it’s own perception – best nation in the world does not bother to look around and learn from others. In Switzerland, we’re voting 4 times a year on different subject matters and have national, provincial and communal elections every 4 years. And for many years you can either cast your vote in a ballot or by mail. No problems whatsover. Voting by mail is safe, easy and “customer-friendly”. A majority of voters use this option. I don’t understand why this is a matter of political controversy, except if you have a hidden agenda.
