I am in my 89th year and well remember the Tarzan strip during the 1930s. Tarzan was presented as less civilized than now – quite often battling wild beasts and especially bull apes wanting to oust his position in the tribe. I really miss them.
Obviously, it’s been a long time since Crisp and Tarzan were kids! Since I started reading Tarzan of the Apes in the comics back in the 1930s it really is a long time. Tarzan should be in a wheelchair by now!
I have to tell all of you on this blab that I’m 88 yrs old and well remember the Tarzan comics way back in the 1930s. That’s when Tarzan battled the great apes and generally survived in a hostile jungle. Sure, he did battle some bad guys but nothing as at present trying to insert a ‘jungle’ man into a 21st century scenario. But I still like the old bugger – brings back my childhood. I must be in my second childhood!
But then, we would have missed that bit with the snake!
