   Some jokes work via the ear, some via the eye. This one goes through the nose. Forgetta and Rose forgotta that. A bit like “niggardly”— which is awful through the ears of the untutored, less so through the eyes. Better luck next time.

   Danziger’s attack on Romney’s religion is a paler version of the ultra-orthodox Jews’ behavior towards the young women who were walking to school; of the Taliban’s attitudes and hatred; and of the lunatic Christian fringe in this country. I don’t cotton to Mormonism myself, but Danziger needs to chill on the anti-religius stuff, unless he wants to become just one more angry, hating religious.
