Thanks, Grandma Lea – the trolls should watch You Tube clip on Pakistan Ambassador to the UN addressing the UN General Assembly on admission of Palestine to the UN. Watch the whole video but especially the section at 4 min 28 seconds and six mins 10 seconds, which gives background to the formation of the state of Israel. I’ll try and provide the link so that GC bot does not block it:you tube DOT com / watch ? v = qqIV 2 Ue 4 h Vs

Great example of ‘whataboutism’ … And ‘Using women as shields as they attack? (A favorite Islamic practice)’ – got any evidence in substantiation?

A pipe dream, I think, regarding demilitarisation – Israel will not ‘give up’ its nuclear weapons.

Wonder how it will pan out when the current 700 000 settlers in the West Bank are turfed off the land they settled on illegally … Israel has cocked a snook thus far at the all UN resolutions condemning the settler occupations.

“Palestinians have the right to a free, sovereign and fully independent state.

Israel has a right to exist and defend itself as a free, sovereign and fully independent state."

@DD Wiz I have ‘liked’ and agreed with your posts most of the time. I agree Israel has a right to exist (decided decades ago). I have a question, though: is Israel (geographic boundary-wise) the same now as then? I have not checked but I think not (needs to be verified); not with the settlers taking over land over time, displacing Palestinians, as well as the many wars during this time. Are/were Palestinians also allowed to defend the annexation of their lands? I aver that any agreement on the two-state solution should include the changed/changing ‘landscape’ – Israel then (1948) is not the same geographically as now.
