This strip was written five weeks ago. I’ve seen this happen before many times when Jeff was alive. He would do an editorial cartoon and it would happen a few days later. I’ve seen this happen so many times where cartoonists do a similar gag at the same time. Jeff MacNelly used to say that there are only twelve gags in the ethers and it’s no wonder that more than one cartoonist will pull that idea in on any given day.
