   1) the character under the bed is one of the usual monsters under the bed. And it seems Lio is begrudgingly helping it. 2) Lio does occasionally have pupils. And his larger eyes just look like “glasses.” 3) The book isn’t tied to his neck, that’s just his hand resting on it.
