Yep. I teach school, including junior high, so yep.

There are so many help wanted signs here it’s pathetic. And I’m talking places that do pay a decent wage with benefits. As an example, one advertisement I hear for a poultry processing company is $15 an hour with medical, vacation, and retirement benefits, raise after 90 days. $2000 sign on bonus and a $200 weekly attendance bonus. No experience needed. They still have trouble finding people that will work. Glamorous job? Not at all, but it pays almost as much as I get after teaching for over 20 years.

I rode the bus for all 12 years of school, (didn’t go to kindergarten), except for certain times in high school when I needed to be somewhere besides home right after school. I was too much of a tightwad to buy gas (it had gone up to .50/gal), to drive the 20 miles or so one way and my folks sure weren’t going to do it with the farm and all. Now many years later, I drive a bus to school every day. ;)

Mine made it to 72 years and 10 days last year before Dad passed away.

One of my favorite Cajun tunes was jump frog your tail will burn

MY mother does. Has since they quit milking and making butter 30+ years ago. I’m afraid it will kill her and she’s only 91.

Don’t sweat it yet, this time of year, that shower may not reach you before it fizzles out.

That song was originally written in the late 1800’s after the writer saw a man killed in a rodeo. Trivia for the day.

Like Little Black Sambo. Considered racist even though his ingenuity is what always saved the day and he came out on top.
