This is another case of Mrs. Godfrey being the problem. She needs to get up and walk around the room. Gina needs to sit down and mind her own business. In my class Gina and Nate would both be in trouble for the same thing, not doing their work. I could care less about a rude drawing. I would hang them on the wall if they were good. I have never caught a kid with a rude one though. Mrs. Godfrey would improve her relationship with Nate greatly by admiring his picture and getting a sense of humor. Kids do cruddy things because they are kids. Seventh grade teachers who can not accept that are idiots. Sincerely,A seventh grade history and language arts teacher

As a teacher myself, I know Mrs. Godfrey would get better results with a little light teasing or maybe mourning the loss of summer with Nate. She started this problem, not Nate. She falls into his expectations when she yells at him for slouching in the hall. Who cares if a kid is slouching in the hall; in his desk, then you get to remind him to sit up and focus. Though that is better done with positive reinforcement by thanking the students who are doing the right thing. The students get a reminder of your expectation and fix it on their own.

How does this marriage continue to survive? My husband does not watch football. He might even prefer to watch a ballet, but I would never double schedule something out of spite. Although Sam’s shrine is ridiculous, I would rather fight that battle.

She is working part time. If you know you won’t be there for dinner, pull out the crock pot.it seems like Sam is picking up all the slack.

Jews don’t believe in heaven or “the other place.” Isn’t his grandpa Jewish? Typically they believe you live a good life for the benefit of others and to show your faith then you die. Some believe in later resurrection when the messiah comes. Why doesn’t grandpa explain his own faith.

As I am currently pregnant, have a toddler, and work full time, get over yourself. Your parents have to help, stop babying you son or he will never be allowed to grow up, and treat your husband with some respect because he does help, remember the garden he dug. Adult women are not this whiny, self-indulgent, or worthless. It is no wonder women do not get equal pay for equal work or promote as often as men if this is how we come across. I really hate Liz. She is everything that makes it seem women can not do a good job as working parents and a little too much like some people I know.

I am a middle school teacher, and I think Mrs. Godfrey overreacts to Nate. He is a pretty typical middle school boy who is not into school. If she gave him some cool projects, that could change radically. He would love making a comic book about any historical event or creating a game. He is imaginative and smart even if he is a pain.

I complain about kids sometimes, and I expect kids to complain about me. No teacher is perfect and always have great days; sometimes the best teacher can be unreasonable and mean. Nate did not say anything with the intention of her hearing. I would have asked for an apology and explained he needed to be discreet in the future. Mrs. Godfrey needs to calm down. I would also explain I am chubby, not fat!

How about she fills out an application? I would like to pretend that no one is this stupid and useless. Her parents are the additional strain on the family finances; she needs to step up and be an adult. If she really wants to avoid work, she could ask her mom or dad to get a job. Her dad would be a great Walmart greeter.

She is also teaching her son the same helplessness that she seems to have learned from her mother. He needs his mommy to take care of his homework! As a middle school teacher, this is horrifying. He needs to learn independence or he will never be an adult. Hopefully he will learn more from his dad than his mother.
