   Supposedly the safety mechanisms were never tested in a fire. When a Titan II silo was on fire there was a real concern.

   Iran bought their F-14s before the Islamic revolution and that fleet isn’t in a good readiness state. Navy F-14s were so old and heavily used that one hour in the sky meant 40 work-hours of maintenance on the ground, far higher than the 18. The F/A-18 didn’t have the pesky habit of self-destructing when hot-dogging it either.

   I thought he got banned and scrubbed from the site because I saw conversations that looked like he was there but his side of the conversation was missing. It seemed like he was only coming to pick fights anyway, carrying on about how insulting Frazz is every third comic and still coming back to argue about it.

   I think he has a point but wouldn’t listen to anyone that said he was being counterproductive. He demanded people to prove him wrong but wouldn’t listen to anyone that said his abrasiveness makes it hard to see his point, much less agree with it.

   Very often the coloring of weekday comics is done by people in the syndicate and not the cartoonist.

   I’m not clear on what you’re saying. I’m a fan of smart phones but would assert that they’re a different order of time wasting than a clock.

   You might START with a bachelor’s. Michigan continuing ed requirements of teachers means that by the time they retire, they’re likely to have at least one master’s just by accumulated credits. I knew one teacher that was scattershotting through a variety of coarses until the college said they had to work to a specific master’s.

   I had posted what turned out to be a false quote. Fascism did have a corporatism (or corporativism?) but it didn’t mean what we would think it means. The nuances are complex and I won’t do it justice, but fascism isn’t business control of government.

   I call selective history. Benito was ousted from the socialist party he was in before WWI for favoring entry in WWI and his fascism he formed later denounced socialism, he switched from class struggle to nationalist struggle. The German Nazi party expunged its socialists in 1933, making it socialist in name only.
