   I think this is meant to touch on what everyone is experiencing right now in real life, without putting them into masks and using Zoom to interact.

   Ouch. Pain all around. Hard on Tiffany taking her Dad’s happiness. Hard on him obviously. And even hard on Ann unless she is a complete sociopath.

   Bets tells him to “shut up” when he is expressing distress and feelings. At no time during the evening does she say to him “hey, can we forget about them for a while and just be together?” Instead she bottles it up until it erupts angrily. She is a poor communicator and unsupportive of how her partner feels. Gunther will be happier once he “nexts” her.

   I note Shannon left herself out of the picture. She sees herself as not having a home or a caregiver after Toni’s statement in yesterday’s strip. Shamnon is well on her way to serious self loathing and fear of abandonment (which instinctually = death in the mind of a small child). Perhaps she will become a cutter when she gets older to release endorphins to numb her pain. Seriously, the last two days are depressing.

   Toni is going to be a nice emotionally abusive parent. You never say to a six year old who does not have good boundaries with her only parent, whose only parent is absent from their and to whom you have become a caregiver “you are not mine.” That does not make the money feel safe and it it is going to undermine any effort Toni makes to discipline her in the future .

   Yuck. Instead of Gunther and Bernice telling the objects of their affections how they feel, they try to manipulate the mind and behaviors of the people they are interested in. This is selfish behavior on their parts. I do mean “objects” because they each see that person as a thing they want to behave in a in a certain way.

   Imagined control of other people makes for unhealthy relationships (friendships). It only causes bad behavior and frustration, anger and resentment. Sick.

   Well, New Haven, CT is an pit, but if Gunther goes to Rhode Island School of Design they see each other on weekends! . Or maybe she is hungry for an adventurous gap year and is worried her ‘rents won’t approve.

    It took me a minute to understand what I was looking at. When I “got it” I almost burst into tears. Not work safe, though this sort of expression OUGHT to be work safe.
