I had my right kidney removed thru an incision below my “belly button”, though a month later the transplant surgery for the new kidney used an incision below my waist on the right side and the new kidney itself is below my waist. They can do the incisions below the waist to help make the scars less visible, even though our kidneys are located up higher.
The shots were nothing unusual, since I’ve had shots for things like tetanus, flu vaccine and other vaccines. The unexpected part was the cost, about $4K total, which apparently was not covered by my insurance.
Everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others. (I forget the name of that book . . .)
