   Pat, I usually agree with you, or at least see your point. But this is a REALLY BAD cartoon.

   ———————————————— What can one person do? Well, consider not flying unless ABSOLUTELY necessary for six (6) months. Take a vacation close to home, drive. Tell Aunt Agnes that you’ll see her Easter instead of Christmas, right now the guv’ment is being oppressive. Business call? Use phone, NetMeeting, web cam, e-mail, web sites.

   Every time you cancel the idea of flying, tell EVERYONE involved WHY : Aunt Agnes, your business customer, the Chamber of Commerce where you WERE planning to vacation, the hotel you planned to stay at, the rental car company you planned to use, the airports in & out, The U.S. Travel Association, the airline you planned to fly, the casino or amusement park you planned to visit, your senators & representatives & state governors, etc. Create a canned e-mail, make a mailing list to alert, and send it off every time.

   Seriously, how many times do you NEED to fly in the next 6 months? Sure, it’s often more convenient, but would your armpit hair fall out if you didn’t fly? And I’m betting right now that if that was done and air travel fell by 60%, the guv’ment would snap-to and change their ways. Freedom would take a step forward.

   Bury them in e-mails, bury them in phone calls, they WILL listen. Public pressure still carries weight (I think) (unless we are now a police state and not a democracy).
