Two questions: 1. doesn’t any institution that accepts public money (Columbia, Yale, Harvard, MIT) from the feds subject to federal regulation; 2. what about UT, Indiana, Michigan, UCLA and Berkeley, Humbolt State (land grant universities)?
Almost, but not quite. Lehi was a small group of Jewish fascists in the 1930s. They were absorbed into the Irgun in the mid-40s. Irgun became the “modern” Likud in the early years of Israeli independence. They were led by Menachem Begin. Hagganah became the secular Israeli socialist government after 1948 and were led first by David Ben-Gurion. While they wanted Arab lands, they were not overtly genocidal. Their paramilitary force became the IDF. By identifying four terrorist Jewish forces you are being misleading. That is: Lehi became a faction within the Irgun (as did the Stern Gang – responsible for the King David Hotel bombing), which became the Irgun, which functioned as the earlier version of today’s Likud. Their slogan was “from the river to the sea”, later co-opted by the Palestinians. The Palestinian Authority, which currently dominates political life in the West Bank, has repudiated that position and recognizes the State of Israel and its right to exist. Not that Bibi cares. He supports Hamas, because with them in the mix he can say there is no unified Palestinian government with whom he can negotiate.
I think it’s simpler than that. The Democratic Party is internally divided about the proper response to what’s going on between Palestinians and Israelis. And Biden has to balance on a razor edge to keep both sides in order to defeat the real enemy of democracy, the GQP (more properly the GCoupP)
