   You’re right about the “de veras” part. It’s spelled wrong in the panel.

   But, there’s a second error, as well. Since there’s a question about whether or not Tia Carmen can win, the “puedes” should actually be “puedas”.

   You’re right about the TV cartoons, but there is still a difference between them and the current DT strip.

   That is…

   The cartoons were obviously meant to be ridiculous, for the entertainment of small children. The current DT strip is supposed to be serious entertainment for adults. But, due to sheer ineptitude on the part of the current author, the DT strip is even more ridiculous than the cartoons.

   Something I just thought of…

   It seems that DT must have a low regard for the criminal justice system. Since I’ve started reading comics again, he hasn’t done a lick of actual police work. Instead, he just dawdles around until the criminals die of some freak accident. In at least a few of the cases, these freak accidents came about due to DT’s gross criminal negligence.

   So, I wonder…

   Could DT be deliberately offing the criminals so that they won’t have a chance to stand trial? Could he be running his own version of the “Star Chamber”?

   I have a cat who always goes around making “Ooh, ooh” noises, so I named him Gunther, in Toodie’s honor.

   After reading Apollo, I do hope that you’d consider trying to get the Dick Tracy job.

   Your story is coherent, the artwork is good, and your hero is doing an actual police investigation. With DT, I’m sure you’d do a better job than the current team.
