That statement is a little bit excessive. For the past 2+ years I’ve been the secretary of our local HOA. We’re in an exurb, so most of our daily services come from the HOA. Snow plowing, street maintenance, flood control, getting the new mailboxes bought and installed, weed control, getting property insurance on HOA resources, you name it — we do it. I’d love to quit, but no one steps forward to take a turn at doing the work.To be sure, we have a would-be petty tyrant on the board, but he always gets voted down. When we do pester people it’s about things like keeping weeds and ice out of their driveway culverts so the neighbors don’t get flooded when there’s a sudden snowmelt or a springtime rain-on-snow event.
Welsh Rabbit. (I think the second one from the right was from Llanfairpwllgwyngyll.)
Yes. With people unable to ring in the new year at bars, “Amateur Night” won’t have so many traffic fatalities.
Sho mush frosting! It comes in all colors. Much ado about nothing.
Except that Lila really is dumber than a box of rocks. Just look at her behavior — drinking, eating ice cream, and buying shoes. Her bachelor’s degree (if she really has one) is probably in liberal studies, surfing, or some other field that leaves her unqualified for a real job; that’s why she’s at the Metromart call center.
This strip is a little dated. Nowadays you can go to Wally World or a local supermarket, dump your coins into the sorter, and for no charge get a slip to redeem at the customer service counter for the value of the coins. The machine even spits out things like bus tokens that might have been mixed up with the coins.
Not if it’s gazpacho — a cold soup of tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions, maybe with chicken broth. Really good on a summer day.
