Whoever was it who thought that was good grammar? The whole clause is part of a prepositional phrase, so it needs to act like any clause — whoever is the subject, so whomever would be wrong. Just sayin’.

In the 1950s the Marvel antecedent equivalent would have been the Black Knight, not Ivanhoe, who resided in Classics Illustrated

Ought to be; the named artist here, the great Bob Kane, would have been dead some years before the final Sunday Tarzans that wrapped up last week

He’d probably check the obituaries to find out when the real Teresa Burritt became “late” if not great, since she’d presumably never have shuffled James Earl Jones so abruptly off this mortal coil.

All seven in just over half a century (1869 Grant’s election, 1923 Harding’s death). Discuss: what is the significance of this concentration, even more dramatic than the early Virginia dynasty, since there would be later Virginians serving as well (W.H. Harrison, Tyler, Wilson).

Maybe Becky’s Korean? In Korean “nay” means yes!

back to the strip John Kerry(D) and Bush the elder(R) are also members of the S&B as was Teddy Roosevelt’s friend Pres. Taft(Lincoln R).

President Taft was about as much a Lincoln Republican as his son (the Senator) grandson (the Senator) or great-grandson (disgraced Ohio governor). But more to the point, most scholars of Skull and Bones would add another famous Yalie to the list of members, from roughly the same generation as Dubya. Mr. G.B. Trudeau, hisself.
