   Matt Damon put the situation succinctly - actuarial table say there is a 1 in 3 chance that John McCain will not live through a 4 year term. So we are facing the very real possibility that Miss Congeniality will become President upon McCain’s passing. I doubt a person afraid to face an open press conference will be able to face terrorists.

   And to get back to Miss Congeniality, Palin is obviously a Hail Mary pass on McCain’s part. However, occasionally those passes get caught and win the game. I will again repeat my belief that Obama set himself up for this loss by not taking Hillary Clinton as his running mate.

   Of course, neither one of them would have preferred it. But that’s where the phrase “politics makes strange bedfellows” comes from.

   McCain took advantage of Obama’s blunder and and is now rubbing his nose in it. Obama can’t even give a sound bite in an interview without being accused of insulting Miss Congeniality!

   Obama may end up being 2008’s John Kerry. The man who snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Oh well, the Clinton vs. Palin election in 2012 should be interesting.

   “Still your comment about Iraq becoming a client state of Iran is ridiculous since the Iraqis and Iranians have a long standing hostility toward each other going back to their war against each other in the 80’s.”

   Again, you show a lack of understanding about Iraq. The only hostility between Iraq and Iran was that Iraq formerly was ruled by Saddam Hussein, a Sunni who was hostile to the Shi’a led Iran. Now that we’ve put the Shi’a in charge of Iraq, they’re free to reunite with their Shi’a brethren in Iran. Which is why Bush Sr. didn’t topple Hussein after the first Gulf War.

   Your lack of knowledge of Iraq is staggering. Sunnis are the minority group of Iraq. Please stay out of the conversation if you don’t understand the topic.

   Get it right, Ted! Sarah Barracuda only won Miss Congeniality, she was never Miss Alaska. An African-American won Miss Alaska that year, which is outstanding considering that persons of color only make up 5% of the state’s population. Perhaps that incident is what caused Sarah to develop her aversion to Affirmative Action?

   The Republicans called Lynn Spears an awful absentee parent when Jamie Spears announced her teen pregnancy.

   When Sarah Palin announces her daughter’s teen pregnancy, the Republicans call it a private matter that is nobody’s business but the family’s.

   Did someone already mention hypocrisy?

    Of course, by ‘herd’ you mean the vast majority of the American people that obviously realized Sarah Palin is an unqualified choice as a Vice Presidential candidate. Or were you referring to the majority of Americans who realize now that John McCain has no sound judgment?
