    Well, as it was, it had only taken PP two weeks, to get over her BIG, BIG EMBARRASSMENT, over how TERRIBLY WRONG she had been, over the past eight years, about Snoopy’s identity. That would, or could, even embarrass someone BIGTIME FOR LIFE—after having labored under some big delusion for so long, and then find out differently—could even TRAUMATIZE you for life, as a result of what your IQ may very well be. Poor Peppermint Patty; how IGNORANT.

    The day this strip was published, Hank Aaron finally achieved what Snoopy failed to do eight months before: breaking Babe Ruth’s record of 714 home runs by hitting his 715th during a game between the Atlanta Braves and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
