This guy is white. He’s allowed to be armed and bellicose, without major consequence. If he were black or brown he would have learned otherwise or died long before he got that belly.
It’s not fair, not right, but it IS true that when Breonna’s boyfriend fired that shot, he precipitated the lethal reaction from the cops.
Note that I didn’t say he caused that reaction: The cause is systemic racism. But if he’d just let them enter, trash the place, probably cuff them both and drag them to the street, then they wouldn’t (probably) have killed anybody, probably not even drawn their firearms. This is something that black and brown people of their age should have learned long ago. I suspect he was feeling a little more empowered than usual, and it turned lethal. This is NOT HIS FAULT… but he did precipitate the cops’ reaction.
