I had a meal prepared that way once. The meat was good, but “the show” of the preparation was the the most interesting aspect: large pot of boiling oil outside, well away from anything flammable; two guys holding each end of a broom stick with a turkey hanging from the middle, dropping it down into the oil, oil splattering, flames erupting along the sides of the pot; children screaming at the sight. Very dramatic, and quite quick. Once was enough. I missed the “turkey roasting” smell that invaded the whole house that set the scene in the past.
