Removing mail boxes and highly-efficient high-speed automated sorting machines that have ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR and make the processing MORE EFFICIENT (thus saving money) has nothing to do with saving money.
Those removal actions cost money. They are EXPENSES, not savings. These actions have NOTHING TO DO WITH FUNDING. They are spending money to make postal service LESS efficient. It is deliberate sabotage of a Constitutionally-mandated government function, and we need an emergency court injunction NOW to make it stop followed by criminal charges being filed (likely not by William Barr, but by his successor, hopefully soon after next January 20) for obstruction of mail delivery.
Intentional slowing of the mail is a federal crime. 18 U.S. Code § 1701 “Obstruction of mails,” states: “Whoever knowingly and willfully obstructs or retards [i.e., slows] the passage of the mail, or any carrier or conveyance carrying the mail, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.”
In the meantime, maybe putting KKKonfederate generals on mail collection boxes might be a temporary fix. Tear them down from pedestals and put them on mail collection boxes. Adding a Nazi swastika flag might be effective, too, though it won’t help much with the automated sorting machines.
