Yes, in the first 12 hours after the Musk takeover, use of the N-word on Twitter rose 500%, and anti-Semitic posts also rose sharply. Beckom thinks this only bothers Democrats, but it’s really crapping on decent people whatever their politics — a group that Mike Beckom is proud to exclude himself from.
When you fire all of the workers who are making sure your broadcast content is not illegal, what do you expect? Time will tell how www.muskporn.com turns out in a few months.
Interesting that Beckom believes that the right knows how to end recessions but won’t lift a finger to help the public unless they vote them into office. Yet we all know that, if elected, they will do nothing but blame their predecessors.
Tell me again how a divided, winner-take-all, mutually exclusive, anti-team, combative government solves all our problems.
The more Gab- and 4chan-worthy posts which are allowed on Twitter, the more wealthy/famous/popular posters will want out. They may stay for a while, like they did with Kanye/Ye/whatever. But sooner or later (and probably sooner) they will decide they can’t be associated with that kind of crap, and will de-platform. And the movement towards Gab content will move forward, as there will be fewer and fewer on the platform who disagree.
I’m not sure whether this is intentional, but the ‘toon is accurate. The only thing that would make it more accurate would be to put a typical family under the umbrella; it’s not only Democrats who will be shat on.
The good liberal people on Twitter will likely hang on for a while feeling the need to fight the misinformation and lies from the fascists. Eventually, they will realize they can’t fight the army of bots sent from Russia, China, North Korea, and more, eventually throw in the towel, end their accounts and it will be bots and crazy Q nuts. Advertisers will leave, and it will be another lost money venture for Musk.

At least Beckom is willing to (inadvertently) admit that hate speech, lies and conspiracy theories are really all just P00P! (For me to P00P ON!)

I wasn’t a Twitter user, though I had an account. Up until this morning: I cancelled my account.

Mike seems to have forgotten that RWers are the ones that are actual snowflakes that have violent meltdowns every time things don’t go their way.
But he is right, Twitter will become a RW crapfest.

The funny thing is…Musk isn’t even a Conservative…he just believes in Free Speech. He and Bill Maher are seeing the light.
