Yes repugs, carry on with your suicide pact. Just keep it in-house.
Putin is sitting back with a iced Vodka watching America implode. Doing this to ourselves. SAD!
I wonder how many of the members of Trump’s cult (even as idiotic as they are, even as insane as they are) could be brought to that stubborn fact that Trump was a DEMOCRAT for a long time. (Ivanka and Jared were registered Democrats themselves, and therefore couldn’t vote for Li’l Donnie in the 2016 New York primary. They didn’t register as Republicans until the 2018 midterms.) But it is important to remember that not ALL members of Trump’s cult are imbeciles and/or lunatics. Josh Hawley, for example, is (without any question) dishonest as hell, and cowardly as hell squared. Yet he is NOT an imbecile, nor a lunatic. Therefore, he does know (as all intelligent and all sane people do) that the election was free, fair, and legitimate. For him to raise his fist in solidarity with his fellow traitors would make a maggot vomit.
The GOP now faces its most serious crisis to date. In the (very) long run they will no doubt completely recover – establishment Republican families and corporations control lots ‘o trillions as well as several media empires.
It’s the short term that has gone to s#it for them.
The monstrous words of Mr. Trump will command tens of millions of votes (or abstentions) for as long as he lives, regardless of what the Republican party leadership or rank and file do or say.
Okay, on the chance that my reply to Guy Fawkes didn’t go where I wanted it to (Gocomics is notorious for that!), here’s a rerun of what might not have deserved to have a first season in the first place, but what the hell, here we go:
I’m not sure that it will be called the “Republican” party any more, though I do agree that in the long term, people born rich and corporate welfare queens will always have a lot of power and influence. The interesting thing is how LITTLE the country club Republicans have in common with the “Reverend Sendmeyourmoney” types. They always have, and always will, use evangelicals and fundamentalists for their own ends. To our detriment, and to our country’s loss.
I can’t believe what cretin trump has done and it’s not over, those people don’t have the IQ of an earth worm.
The republican party was born from the death throes of the Whig party in the 1850s. The dissolution of the Whigs also produced the “Know-Nothing” party which was a terrorist party somewhat akin to what we’re seeing being engendered in what I refer to as the Trumpian party.
Now the republican party is undergoing the same fission that produced them in the first place.
For what it’s worth, I will point out that the dissolution of the Whig party directly led to the attempted formation of the Confederate States of America – calls for secession are growing louder here even as we speak.
Unfortunately, they’re going to drag the rest of the country down into their uncivil war.
Very good Matt. So descriptive of the risks of extremism.
The fight for 2024 has officially started.
At the Capitol the Trump loving cop was killed by a Trump loving fireman who threw the fire extinguisher.
The rag tag Maga army of Benedict Arnold Trump the seditious is supposed to attack the USA capitols this weekend. Will traitor Trump the covid spreader call for martial law in yet another attempt to take over the country and foist himself as dictator upon us all?
When have the racist lying obstreperous republicans ever been civil?
Conservatives can’t beat progressives, so they turn upon themselves… yet still blame progressives for their fighting…
Can’t they just get along and agree they are all Nazis at heart?
The sad fact is that someone actually voted for these morons.
GOD, I LOVE IT!!
Until we get money out of politics, this will happen over and over. Check out the article in the Guardian about the Club for Growth. Primary supporters are billionaires Richard Uihlum and Jeffrey Yoss who more or less bought 42 of the congress members who tried to overturn the election. Guess who the two senators are…Hawley and Cruz.
More troops in D.C. than in Afghanistan and Iraq combined. MAGA???
“Never interrupt your enemy when they’re making a mistake…”
“Instant Karma gonna get you Gonna knock you right in the head” It couldn’t happen to a nicer group of rabid wolverines.
It seems more like an Uncivil War to me.
When it is only Republicans all in the same room together, or even only them in a building, do they permit anti-mask party members to come anywhere remotely close to the potential infection zones of the ones who understand asymptomatic infection, and comprehend the danger of pandemic viral airborne disease transmission? Does reality prevail over demonstration of commitment to ideology?
The Republican party went downhill the minute reagan was sworn in. He was far-right, but as an actor made people think he wasn’t. He did away with industrial jobs, the backbone of our nation so his $$ buds could make even more $$ by shipping those jobs overseas. And of course, he brought forth, like an avenging demon, neo-liberal economics. Again, a version of capitalism that benefits only the rich.
Or maybe millions of Republicans like me will leave the party to become an Independent or better yet form a new party!!
