Maybe I’m too cynical, maybe not, but I’ve been wondering if at least some of the tanks and other heavy weapons the Iraqi military abandoned were just flat-out bought? ISIS has plenty of money from the ransoms countries like France, Germany, and Spain pay them (among other countries, and they all lie about paying ransoms, fooling precisely nobody). I could easily picture at least some of them making deals with ISIS. (I wonder what “Benedict Arnold” is in Arabic…….) Otherwise, you have tank commanders getting out of their tanks to run like hell against lightly armed (by comparison) enemies. That kind of incompetence has no place in the 21st century!

Tomahawk missile: $1.4 million. Hellfire missile: $70,000. Pavehawk bomb: $20,000. Fifty calliber bullet for a Barret stiper rifle: $6.65 (retail from Barret) Delivery system: Reaper drone: $28 million. F-35: Well, $1.3 TRILLION committed so far, and they have’t flown a mission yet. Airfare and a taxi for the sniper team, few hundred bucks each.

All of the weapons btw have been used to elliminate ONE SINGLE INDIVIDUAL, so against groups like ISIL, or individuals we need to elimintate, cost benefit remains with the military industrial complex, not the taxpayers.

The invasion of Iraq: the gift that keeps on giving.-I wonder, did Republicans insist that the latest attacks be part of the budget? Did they insist that the costs be offset with cuts elsewhere?
