This comic is brought to you by the people who scream bloody murder when gas prices increase by any amount.

The “Church of Climate Change” is funded by the Chinese! When the socialists/communists ban Gas vehicles it will weaken the USA tremendously!

That California is a leader of the nation is an oddity to me. But, I like that they are for the EV auto and are leading the nation is its acceptance.

Did Lisa have a cartoon in which all autos were headed over the edge because leaded gasoline was being banned and most of the existing cars wouldn’t run well on unleaded? What kind of dolt is she?

Oh. Of course. She’s that kind.

Is Lisa going to eat gas? If not, just what is she going to eat? Crop failures are now global due to widespread drought, flooding and similar climate disturbances. You guys worried about gas prices better get set for real inflation of food prices, and that includes meat because feed crops are so pricey that many farmers are severely reducing their herds. Droughts in China, India and North America have reduced crop yields often by more than half. That includes basic grains, wheat, rice and barley. It’s not going to be pretty, and you’ll look back on those gas prices apparently without ever seeing the connections or understanding how this all came about. And then consider what social upheavals we can expect in the near future because of food shortages. How about a global humanitarian crisis in the making? But, fine, go on complaining about gas prices and automobile restrictions.

The last few weeks I have seen oil pumps running that have been off for months as the price of gas and oil increased. (to make Pres. Biden look bad?) Now that the price of oil is decreasing I am told by those in the know that oil companies want to increase profits by pumping more before the oil prices get too low.

Fascinating how scared people are of change, and how unable they are of imagining a future where things are… different.

What is also interesting that it was Reagan that banned CFCs and put in environmental protections that stopped the growth of the hole in the Ozone layer. Industry whined and complained about all sorts of consequences of killing an industry but the republicans pushed with the change, and here we are with 99% of ozone-depleting substances phased out and the protective layer above Earth is being replenished.

Can’t expect that out of today’s “right”, that’s for sure.

Just one more ‘issue’ that the Republican Party of Trump will LIE about and weaponize.

Lisa has no more knowledge about what the effects of the future ban will be than she does about economics. She knows ONLY that it is somehow a ‘liberal plot’ and is probably something, something ‘woke’ and why aren’t drilling like Sarah Palin wants, which will solve high gas prices, inflation, and climate change, which everyone knows is a hoax.

    .

Next up: Lisa will explain that it is not only OKAY, but admirable for Trump to keep all the top secret material that he didn’t steal and never had when the FBI conducted their illegal witch hunt and illegally seized those documents that he didn’t have.

To not be concerned realistically about the environment that your grandchildren [and their children] will have to endure unless we change direction, is not a sign of a lucid philosophy, Lisa.

The whining about the eventual ban on NEW gas car sales reminds me of the Londoners in the early 1950s screaming about why they shouldn’t ban coal furnaces …as they coughed up black soot.

My Grandfather (who was a conservative) said more than once “People lash out in fear at things they don’t understand.” It’s probably a good thing he passed in the 90’s before he could see what conservatism in America would become.

Given the fragile state of the electric grid, and the rarity of some of the metals needed to produce the batteries for electric cars, it should make more sense to try converting to 100% biodiesel.

Phased in over a period of many years means “Right Now!” to Lisa.

Meanwhile, largely overlooked by Maga’s bigger scandals:

→ In brazen IOKIYAR, Maga Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX), ranking member on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said that it’s wrong for an ex-President to remove classified documents from the White House… except for tЯц☭p, “who has a different set of rules.”

→ An AZ judge ordered three Republicans, including Secretary of State nominee Mark Finchem and U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar (a guy so vile and corrupt that his own family made ads urging people not to vote for him), to pay attorney fees for filing a defamation suit against a former Democratic lawmaker “primarily for purposes of harassment.”

→ The chair (Ben Paris) of Florida’s Seminole County Republican Party was convicted of illegally setting up a fake progressive candidate to siphon votes from Democrats in a 2020 state senate election.

→ Following up on Ron DeathSantis’s big “election fraud” media event: So it comes out that DeSantis office told past felons that their right to vote had been restored, then when they used it he rounded them up with his new “election fraud task force”. Oops: the state’s case is falling apart as the 20 people he arrested for voting illegally was given registration, voter IDs, and told by the state they could now vote.

→ Former Idaho Rep. Aaron von Ehlinger has been sentenced to at least 8 years for raping one of his interns, Prescilla Giddings. This was the woman who was doxxed, ridiculed and verbally attacked by von Ehlinger’s GOP colleagues as a “lying liberal” because she had the audacity to report crime and corruption.

Conversion to renewable energy should have started LONG ago. Gas cars are NOT being banned immediately, but fossil fuel subsidies that should have ended long ago should be ended TODAY.

ALL new technology will advance in fits and bursts. The US has (had?) an opportunity to be a world leader in the EV market. Instead, who leads? CHINA!!!

Is China the leader in electric vehicles?China is the largest electric vehicle market in the world, accounting for 53 percent of global sales in 2021. Last year, sales volume nearly tripled, reaching a total of 3.3 million. In comparison, sales in Europe grew 65% to 2.3 million while they more than doubled in the US, reaching 630,000.Aug 2, 2022

Why do the critics think that we are incapable of competing and winning? Do you hate the US?

The latest California wack-job idea is to buy an EV and then also buy a gasoline-powered portable generator to carry around with you, for when there are no outlets that you’re allowed to plug into. The rest of us, being more sensible, just buy hybrids.

You must have missed the major irony last week when the Gov made his big announcement regarding gas powered cars and the fact that they will not be sold new after 2035. 48 hours later the power company asked the citizens to not power their e.v.’s as they would create power shortages. How much more proof does someone need to know this is a bad idea, at the wrong time?

Upon reading a few posts I see not one is saying much at all about EV’s actually needing ELECTRICITY to charge them. In a perfect world we would find that EV’s would have a range of 1000 miles with a towing capacity of 20,000 pounds and need 2 hours to be fully charged, but we dont live in that world. What we have is sort of a mandate to buy and use EV’s but dont plug them in all the time as you will cause blackouts. Kind of defeats the purpose doesnt it?

“- The plan is to ban gas-powered cars by 2035”

For the record, only the sales of new gas cars are banned in 2035. You will still be able to drive your gas car or buy used ones.
