wminfeld, first thanks for your comment. I don’t believe I have ever suggested Scott be banned. I have written that his name-calling, over-the-line objectionable posts be flagged.
Banning is something gocomics does on its own, I suppose, when a poster repeatedly ignores warnings. (And I’m assuming gocomics issues warnings when they remove a slew of objectionable posts as they did overnight with many of Scott’s.)
I think I stated very clearly why I flag posts, and since his recent spate of hateful, name calling posts have been removed, i can’t go back and quote them for you.
I think I’ve flagged a post twice for ugly racism and I gave you an example. More often, if I read a racist post, I post a comment calling it out, as i did today elsewhere. A long time ago, I decided I wouldn’t be silent in the face of ugly racism. I grew up in Okla., with racism surrounding me, had one set of grandparents who openly expressed it. Most people get uncomfortable around racist remarks, but say nothing. It reminded me of the old saying ‘Evil prevails when good men do nothing,” so I started speaking up. I’m good with that.
Then we agree. I enjoy reading different views, especially those that are offered with reason and explanations.
