CK. If they “suck”, how do you explain their ratings? If they are “unfair and unbalanced”, then how is it that they have reported on major news items that the mainstream media have ignored completely? Judging by the ratings, the American public trusts them more than any other news source. You’re just upset because they don’t kiss Obama’s bleeep and blindly accept everything that Washington tries to cram down the public’s throat.

Hate that Fox news Love that MSNBC news

    Hate NY Post Love NYT

Hate Rush radio Whadda ya got?

I would think that if a person wanted to be well informed, he’d watch/read/listen to both sides. If I was standing in line at the checkout and saw that Martians were invading on the cover of Enquirer, I might look at USA. Or I could believe one party, one Pravda, er paper. There is still a warm island like that, or a cold peninsular.

I listen to NPR and trust them over FOX or any other news media source.

herdreader: You explain their ratings by pointing out that the top act in Murdoch’s “News Corpse Circus” gets around 2½ million viewers.. less than 1% of the 300 million Americans.

Regardless that Olbermann gets less, the FOX audience is still a niche. I would suggest that it’s because the FOX News audience skews older, and there is less attention to truth by the opinion shows on that channel. But the point is that you can’t point to their ratings and say “that proves America agrees”.

1% of America agrees with FOX, if ratings are your measurement.

Lewreader: What FOX News Chairman (and long time former GOP communications director) Roger Ailes presents is not honest news. You assume that by watching both sides, you get the middle. Look up the term “overton window”.

FOX News has done their part to push the political discourse so far to the right, President Obama passes a Health Care plan proposed by the Heritage Foundation in the 80’s, and the biggest middle class tax-cut in history, and is called a Muslim Socialist for his trouble. The point of FOX is to make compromise impossible, no matter how much the Democrats reach out toward the middle.

Mostly, Democrats are suffering in the polls because the economy is still poor. This wasn’t anything Obama did, it’s been building since Reagan de-regulated us into the S&L crisis. And then one bubble after another until the real estate and financial derivatives bubbles popped simultaneously.

Right now President Palin is on pace to have American troops in Iran by 2014.

    Um, mob mentality, maybe?

How do explain the ratings of the gladiatorial games - didn’t the Romans KNOW they were contributing to the downfall of the Roman empire?
