I was just watching Mary Beard’s BBC series about the Roman Empire. In talking about Hadrian’s wall she pointed out that Northumberland was like Afghanistan. Throughout the empire the roman Army had to keep about 15% of its troops garrisoned at the wall. That’s around 300 years they were pinned down by raiding Scots — just like the Taliban keeps our troops having to stay there and bleed us.
So will our troops have to stay there until we pull them out to fight the rebels of America like as happened at the fall of Rome?
Veni, Vidi, Venci - as if.
The US is suffering from Twitter diplomacy.
If the USA hadn’t interfered and helped create the Talibans, the Russian would have controlled Afghanistan and none of this would be happening. They were ready to do it the only possible way, ugly, mean and violent and, as hankmorgan above wrote, it would have kept them very busy keeping a hold on this country.
With trumps exit possibly a certainty.. a lot of countries want to get their investment back.. including Netanyahu taking over the Jordan valley in Israel.

How many men, women and children did the USA kill yesterday?
Whatever sense Hump has he used it wisely to kick the Taliban under the bus.
Taliban trounced Russkys with little more than guts.
