Once someone is ON the plane, airlines don’t really have the right to drag you off. PRIOR to boarding, they can prevent you from getting on. United will suffer for this, and they deserve to. Then again, there isn’t any US airline that I really enjoy flying anymore, and I’ve been a frequent flyer for several decades now. (At one point I had one platinum and two gold FF cards on various airlines.)
