However, it is a very secure district and because of Citizens United and the way districts are drawn, Republicans are more afraid of other Republicans than they are of Democrats. There are “districts” drawn in such a way as to allow a person to walk from one district, through a second district, and then enter a third district while only walking a block and a half.There is importance in making sure that no one social structure, city/town/village/farming community, dominates political opinion and individual rights in a state, and both parties are equally guilty of gerrymandering in arrogantly abusive ways, but we are electing to office people who are unable to pass the same tests we require of new citizens to our nation. We are putting people into office whose understanding of science as the rest of the world sees it leaves them unable and unwilling to prepare our children to compete on the world stage.It is ok for you to believe the earth is 7000 years old, but if the Creator went to all of the trouble to make it look as if it’s trillions of years old, and if the math and science used by the rest of the world for invention and innovation is the standard against which we must compete, shouldn’t we give that creation some credit and play in the playing field we’ve been given?Our atheist commentators may take issue with this idea, but telling them we should have more people willing to back science is “preaching to the choir”. It is to those who are convinced that their religious beliefs are the only things that should be taught and practiced these words are meant.We need open minds in order to reclaim the place our past students…those of YOU who are in your 60s +…. that helped us become great. Open minds, educated minds, and open hearts can make us an exceptional people once more, instead of a nation of narrow minded people with a few exceptional people that are part of the population.Respectfully,C.
To you and the Pep Boys Mechanic:I was addressing the toon by Jim Moron.He portrays the Republicans as a tiny minority painted into a small corner in the “White South”.Obviously in his lib world everybody loves Barry and his leftist ideas except for a small gerrymandered “district” of white Southerners. I’m sure he thinks they’re racist too or else he wouldn’t have injected race, but that’s what simpletons do.Obviously there is a HUGE part(if not majority) of the US population that thinks Barry has us on the wrong path. Thus the 44% approval rating.
