At my age of more than 7 decades I can see the air being quietly sucked out of this system. Fewer everyday purchasing choices (as in, who need to be able to shop online for wider choice), lower product quality everywhere, decline of cognition, subtle (and not-so-subtle) slipping of quality of life, all while <1% of the population sucks huge amounts of money out of circulation (i.e., business reinvestment, wage increases, benefit support) for their own use. One reason a study of history is valuable: it has NOT always been like this.
