5 or more blades for maybe two good clean shaves. What a waste. When I was a pup n the 1930-40’s, dad used the well known double edged Gillette Blues that lasted through a few shaves. Then, in order to save a buck or two, he used a gadget that looked like a pencil sharpener, where he inserted the blade, turned the handle, and stropped the blade. And sometimes he just half filled a juice glass and rubbed the blade around the insides to kind of buff the edges. Used blades were used to scrape paint or putty off windows, Lots of practical uses for them. Impossible nowadays, but then it appears once and done fits a lot of products, so what is called recycling has become the not quite substitute, as most of it end up in landfills anyway.
