The difference is that Romney was a cheerleader for the war while being a chickenhawk about fighting. He was a cheerleader for later wars while never letting his sons enlist. Obama and Clinton both actively opposed the wars that they weren’t willing to fight in. Obama (being my age) was never subject to the draft, and pursued another way of supporting America.
If the goal is a commentary on Romney’s speech in Newport News, Va. this week and how he felt he might use military influence, this was not Mr. Danziger’s best work. Tho the artwork has an unusual crispness to it.C.
Hmmm…Danziger DRAWS A PICTURE of Romney to make him look like Dukakis, and the collective mind says “look…Romney looks like Dukakis!” The collective mind is a funny thing.
This is Mitt blaming the President for the arbitrary cuts to the military budget — and the same amount from social services budget — that his fellow elephants agreed to.
He earned his money. All inherited money went to his church. Doesn’t anyone listen anymore? Read everything not just main stream media and then think for yourself. Oh gosh, I forgot, the government doesn’t want you to do that!
The general in charge of the failed F-22 project said, to paraphrase: “Of course they’re expensive, but if we didn’t intend to USE them, we wouldn’t buy them.” MItt is calling for a TREMENDOUS INCREASE in “military” spending. If he plans to buy them, WHO does he intend to use them on?
It’s time for Americans to demand a reasonable REDUCTION in “defense” spending, especially on building up a bigger Navy, and “weapons systems”, we do NOT need, as we’re already many, many, times ahead of any potential “enemy”. Also, while some technology IS good, it should be noted that our great military “planners” are calling for fighters that ONLY have missiles, no guns. The Chinese air force can run them out of missiles by sheer numbers of aircraft they have, leaving those expensive weapons of ours, USELESS!
It’s time to use more intelligence, and economy. Another case in point: a Hellfire missile costs $68,000, a bullet can do the same job in most cases, for $8!! Think about it.
the ‘toon becomes even funnier. The general in charge of Army armor has said the thousand odd M-1 tanks sitting in storage at home, SHOULD NOT be upgraded at the cost of roughly FOUR BILLION DOLLARS, because they are NOT NEEDED!! Mitt of course, and Congress (both parties but mostly Republicans) have voted to spend the money anyway!! Mittens wants MORE of this WASTE, and says he’s a “fiscal conservative”? What a joke!
“It’s time for Americans to demand a reasonable REDUCTION in “defense” spending,”You and Nev Chamberlin Obama agree.-Are you saying that there’s no such thing as wasteful military spending?
Justice: in a repeat from “casual browser”, my son (13 years navy, never on a boat, and tours in all Bush engagements) and I (’Nam)are also on that same “disabled” list as your nephew, which is why we support our nation, a truly strong and FUNCTIONAL military, at LOWER COST, and despise “chickenhawks” seeking to lead, again.

Jeff, I assume the tank is going to the left. Why then is the flag wafting to the right?

The War in Vietnam was an evil and a fraud. Those running the war were criminals, and those who served were victims.
