PHANTOM: Who is the guy with his back turned (panel 1)? Does the embassy guard think that the prez might not be aware of or believe in the Mark of the Phantom?
Phantom – I can’t imagine that the President wouldn’t know the mark, but maybe he doesn’t know that someone like the guard would know. I think David is right; the man with his back to us is the pilot holding his helmet. The hair doesn’t look quite right for it to be P. Either he is purposely being mysterious or he is just an unimportant character.
Mary Worth – Does Jannie have intentions toward Ian other than getting a good grade? Why turn down a dinner or an ice cream with a young man who seems nice, polite and not bad looking?
FUNKY W: I read today’s horizontal “Law of Unintended Consequences” strip after copying it into my word-processor and turning it vertical, thereby preventing the unintended consequence of a crick in my neck from trying to read the sideways text in the horizontal strip!
Mark Trail – Is there an easy way to search for past episodes? This guy was also involved in the cave story which I vaguely remember. Is he also the same one at the beginning of this story who was going someplace else, not Mexico, had something to do with diamonds, but it was promised that 2 or 3 stories were going to fit together? I’ve become totally confused with all the characters, but maybe it’s going to be explained at last.

Phantom – I think the guy with his back turned to us is the pilot. It looks like he’s carrying his helmet under his arm.
Mutts – The Snoopy tribute continues.
Alley Oop – I’m afraid it’s getting worse.
Mark Trail – Dawns the light.
Crankshaft – Maybe he needs to build a fire to . . . um . . . hold that thought.
Mandrake – I don’t quite understand what’s going on here.
