Miss Plainwell: I got excited when Mr. Spaetzle asked for a ride to the gym. But he just wanted to get dropped off at the garage on the way to the gym. Now I'm worried he thinks I was judging him. Frazz: Maybe he's judging you for driving someplace to exercise. Miss Plainwell: Trust me, I beat him to that worry, too.
Several years ago I was at roughly 300 pounds and have now lost ~120 pounds. Exercise is a good thing and it helped me feel better and I now enjoy it, but no one goaded me into exercising. I simply wanted to try and I found a way that was successful for me.

Principal Spaetzel is a grand fellow, whether he exercises or not. It is a personal decision. So, I like his character as he is or if he changes. It is the person and his/her personality that matters not their size or shape.

As far as DRIVING to the gym to exercise…. I think there are many reasons why driving to the gym can be good and acceptable. For me, while I much prefer exercising outside, running outside in my neck of the woods is dicey this time of year. Sometimes the paths are clear enough for safety and I can, but other times there is considerable ice and I feel I would be foolish trying to run (with my rather clumsy nature) on paths that are icy. So, on those days, I too will drive to a gym where I can run indoors.
