Eric Allie demonstrates the level of maturity lacking from the Republican Party.

Make sure to download the Snapcrap app prior to visiting San Francisco. Or have fun dodging homeless camps in LA.

The smell of feces in the morning is usually an alert that AF Branco has posted another cartoon.

America loves California so much that they have moved here in droves and made us the most populous state in the union. That has filled up all available housing and made some problems for us. So what.

San Francisco is the 4th largest city in California and has bout 8000 homeless, 1% of it’s population. It’s mostly a problem downtown and in the Mission District. You could spend all day in SF and not bump into a homeless person.

I take it Newson slaughtered conservatives recently…wasn’t he on FoxNews recently? Anywho, it wouldn’t have been necessary to engage in a pathetic ad hominem attack unless he did.

While the feces hurlers have turned “liberal” into a slur, the one-time liberals have done worse; they’ve appropriated the word so that it now means autocratic corporatist warmonger. (wait, weren’t the Republicans supposed to play that role?). Similar treatment with “progressive”.

Do the Republicans actually feel that they alone have a way to produce the much-needed affordable housing/healthcare/job_training for gainful employment?

" … There are many factors that can contribute to people living on the streets: poverty, childhood trauma, mental health issues, drug abuse, bad choices. But study after study finds a central factor behind the growing crisis is pretty simple: a lack of affordable housing. Economists at Zillow, for example, found that when the typical resident of a city must spend more than a third of their income on rent, homelessness begins to skyrocket. Another study, conducted recently by researchers at Stanford University, finds that the explosion of homelessness in California over the last decade can be largely explained by the growing housing affordability crisis in the state. “High housing costs and a low stock of affordable housing create a precarious situation, especially for lower-income families and individuals who are at higher risk of becoming homeless,” the researchers write. …"

A total of 7.5 million people left California since 2010.

In 2021 more than 360,000 people moved from California resulting in a net-loss of 249,239 residents.

Hundreds of thousands of people are leaving California each year due high taxes, unaffordable housing, political issues and social and economic issues such as high homelessness rate.2023 so far, there has been a .66% net decline in population. Doesn’t seem like much but a state with 39 million, that means about 260,000 leaving, so far. That is a lot of tax base.

Not to mention the hundreds of businesses that have moved out for better business environments, like Texas and Florida.

The one dynamic about the exodus is the change in representation that will occur. Fewer residents, will mean fewer Representatives and consequently, fewer electoral votes.
